At Bike Arlington, we love the stories behind the people and their bikes–so much so, in fact, that we created a series of six short films in which our neighbors share their hopes and challenges and remind us what makes our community so awesome. Enjoy “Arlington Passages” as you get excited for Bike to Work Day!
The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and its Commuter Connections program (“COG”), and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (“WABA”) encourage you to always bike sober and responsibly. Alcohol impairment has a negative impact on a bicyclist’s ability to maintain balance, navigate in traffic, and perceive hazards. It also increases the likelihood of risky behaviors such as riding recklessly and fast. Impaired cyclists pose a risk to other vehicles, pedestrians, and even a greater threat to themselves. If you feel any impairment or get drunk, call a cab. Participation in any aspect of this event is voluntary.
